Our Training
The Appropriate Workplace Behaviour course addresses the Respect@Work legislation, positive duty requirements, sexual harassment, discrimination, harassment, victimisation, vilification, and bullying.
The course can be delivered to employees by your learning management system or our online course portal.
Topics include:
Understanding sexual harassment in the workplace
Prevention of sexual harassment outside the workplace
The legal and regulatory framework for sexual harassment (In particular the new positive duty imposed on workplaces to create a safe workplace from sexual harassment perspective)
Preventing and responding to sexual harassment in the workplace (Especially the Respect@work framework which guides actions organisations need to take in order to create safe workplaces.)
Support, advice, and advocacy (Including best practise when dealing with victims of sexual harassment and what to do if you are sexually harassed)
New rules
In November 2022, the Respect at Work Bill passed Parliament, introducing a positive duty on employers to prevent workplace harassment.
Your role
The positive duty will place an onus on employers to take 'reasonable and proportionate' measures to eliminate sex discrimination, sexual harassment and victimisation, as far as possible.
The deadline
A 12 month transitional period applies before the AHRC’s new powers to monitor and assess compliance with the positive duty come into force, ensuring employers have time to prepare.
